Qualified with College of Optometrists in 2007 following Pre-Registration year at Essex County Hospital, Colchester. Registered with General Optical Council; number 01-23459.

Since then he has been working in this practice most of the week and part-time in the eye clinic at The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust.

Hospital clinics involve glaucoma, paedeatric refraction and specialist contact lenses.

Provides tuition in refraction to ophthalmologists at courses held in the practice.

Accredited via Cardiff University (2011 via online course and practical clinical examination) as an Enhanced Service Provider (ESP) for Suffolk NHS.

As an ESP referrals are received from optometrists and GP's across the county. This involves patients with potential eye problems (detected by optometrists from other practices across the county) being referred to us for Referral Refinement ie making the decision whether an eye clinic is required and, if so, with what degree of urgency.

Achieved Cardiff University LOCSU Glaucoma certificate March 2020.

Examinations carried out at Dunstone Optometry privately or subsidised by the NHS.

Michael is married to a fellow optometrist, Claire.

Michael became a Dunstone Optometry Partner in December 2022.
